“To teach is to learn twice”. This is the saying I always strongly believe in. Whenever I am preparing for courses, I will run through in my mind all the kinds of questions that a student may ask. And sometimes due to the real life studies cases shared in class, I get to “revise and relearn” certain concepts. Both the students and I get to benefit.
Also, you may be surprised that different teachers will come up with different approaches to deciphering a chart even though we all teach based on the same principles. For example, I studied with various Bazi teachers and when it comes to determining the strength of my chart, half affirmed that it is a strong chart while the other half strongly ascertained it is a weak chart. In this case, can they still predict the situations happening to me accurately? Well, to a certain extent both sides still did a good job.
And it is always better to study under a teacher to grasp the concepts than just to read and assume the stuff. I think it is scary to do that. For example recently when I was walking in the mall, I overheard a lady talking to her friend that “I am a Yang Wood daymaster, that is why I m so strong in my character and stubborn. I need to avoid fire as they will “burn” me, leaving me tired and in bad shape.” From her words, I assume that she is a weak daymaster. However, what does fire mean to her? Fire can take the form of the fire we used for cooking, the lights we use in the house, her talents or even her children. Does that mean she has to avoid all of the above? This is really only scratching the surface and not understanding your chart to make your expand your potential. And there are also cases where one uses fire even though he or she belongs to a weak chart.
The course is to let you understand when and how to make full use of the 5 elements that exist in this world to optimize our lives.
